Rhino horns have long been used in traditional medicine, particularly in densely populated Asian countries where it is still widespread. This demand has led to a surge in poaching, causing a significant decline in rhino populations. For instance, the Northern white rhino subspecies has only two remaining members – a mother and daughter. Despite the ban on the sale of rhino horns in many countries, there is still a black market, and South Africa, which has the largest rhino population, experiences high poaching numbers. Saving the Survivors is a charity that provides medical care to injured rhinos, including orphans, with the aim of saving the species. Biome Media supports this organization by donating the majority of any profits from its rhino collection.
